Ahh snacks. If you feel like all you’re doing is preparing snack after snack after snack, then feels. Total feels. Which is why we have come up with 5 easy snacks for kids (because no one wants to be spending an hour in the kitchen making snacks that are consumed in seconds).
Now, not all snacks are created equal which is why it’s important to look at your kids whole food intake for the day before deciding the type of snack you’ll pop on their plate in the afternoon.
There are so many different possible combinations for these, like these Hawaiian ones but we also love a good apple and cinnamon scroll or cheese and vegemite (bonus with this one is that you can use wraps and don’t have to use the oven – microwave works perf 👌🏻)
A simple winner here (and there’s some yummy dip ideas here). Add your favourite dip (we love cream cheese or beetroot dip!) and your favourite veggies sticks (my kids love carrot, cucumber and celery!) and you’re good to go!
Okay, this one has a little bit of prep time (but not much!) Muffins are so easy to make and are a snack favourite in our home! We love banana and honey, mixed berry or even strawberries and seeds in ours.
Who doesn’t love a good fruit salad? After school this is one very easy snack for kids to devour! And will leave their bellies feeling full and ready to tackle their homework siblings. Cut up their favourites, or depending on their age you can get them to cut it up themselves! If they are on the young side, this still is a great opportunity to build on some self-help skills and we love to use the KiddieKutter.
There are so many yummy bliss ball ideas out there, but we want easy snacks for kids (that they’ll eat) and when I stumbled on this one – it’s one that my kids devoured. So be prepared to have none left for the next day!
What I love most about all these easy snacks for kids, is that they are perfect for kids of any age! They aren’t just for the big ones, but the littlest in the fam will love them too!
